Today my Tuesday ladies came along to class with their fabric scraps, sewing machines, full bobbins and the love in their hearts to make some quilts to send to the bush fire survivors in Victoria. The complete devastation that the fires have caused have touched each and everyone of us, we can't imagine just how the survivors are feeling, but we came together to make some quilts that hopefully will touch the hearts of some of the survivors.
There was lots of cutting, the machines buzzed all day, the irons were turned on at 10am and off at 5pm, there wasn't much talking, just the desire to achieve as much as we could.
By the end of the day we had made 6 quilt tops, next week we will quilt the quilts then bind them and have them ready to send off to Victoria. I would like to urge any group out there be it a small or large group, to get together and make a quilt or two to share the love we all have with those less fortunate then ourselves.
A huge thankyou to those wonderful ladies that were at class today, you are all such a terrific bunch. I will be back next week to share the quilted quilts. If anyone has any information on where we should send these quilts then please let me know.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to anyone and everyone whose lives have been destroyed by these incredible fires that have left Victoria and the rest of Australia in mourning.

Hi Again Kerry,
The stitching post in Katoomba rang the red cross and they will take quilts in a couple of weeks. They also are asking for fat quarters and cottens to help give some folk a fresh stash. Good idea as well!
