Well I knew my blog birthday was coming up but I was surprised a few minutes ago when I pulled out my blog book to read my very first post was on Thursday 16th Feb 2006. Wow lots have been shared on here since then.
To all my reader I would like to give you the opportunity to win a $50 gift voucher in the shop - all you have to do is leave a comment and let me know which post over the last 6 years you have enjoyed reading. I will draw the prize next Wednesday evening.
Good luck and thanks for sharing the past 6 years with me.
Over the past 6 months a small group of us have been working on our latest paper bag quilts/friendship quilts. The rules this time around were interputed by each individual in a variety of ways. These quilts are row by row quilts with the owner making the first row to set the theme for the quilt. This row is somwhere in the middle of each row. Everyone was thrilled with what they received back, I look forward to seeing how they all finish them off. I am sure you will agree that they all look great. Well done ladies. Our next one is going to be a block exchange which should be heaps of fun - this will start in March.
With my FIS online group I had to make a birthday gift for Christine a couple of weeks back - this years theme is "Grow, Cook & Eat - these are the gifts I sent to her.
An apron using a gorgeous floral fabric - grow & cook
A cup cake pin cushion - cook & eat
A set of cookie cutters - cook
A copy of my first book - "Blackberry Jam & Cream the pin cushion is such a cutie - it is a Bareroot's pattern from her book "Favourite Embroidery" and comes as a kit to make 2 pincushions. The book is $19.50 and kit is $14 both are in store now.
Aren't these just the most gorgeous little clam shells - all English Paper pieced - it was so good learning Sue Daleys techniqes - so quick and easy - anyone can make heaps of these cute little fellows. I have other photos to share but I am still having trouble with typepad and my new computer but hey I have managed to upload one photo - more to come.
Just letting you all know that I had the best weekend in QLD with Sue Daley. Sue and her family made us so welcome at their B & B, the food was amazing and the hospitality was terrific. Sue was a wonderful tutor, so willing to share her knowledge and expertise with us. I learnt so much over the weekend and came home extremely inspired. I can't wait to host Sue in 6 weeks for my Girls Day in the Country at the end of March, for all those attending it will be a great weekend - at this stage Saturday is totally full but there is still room for a ffew more ladies on Sunday - if you would like to book or chat to me about further details send me an email.
I have been trying all day to post some photos of the projects we were working on with Sue, but for some reason typepad will not let me open any photos - if anyone knows why this might be happening I would appreciate your advice.
