Retreat Group

Over the past couple of weeks I have had the pleasure of 4 different retreat groups - with another group this week. I love the fact that all these groups love to come back year after year to spend 2 days with me, on my little hill, in the middle of a paddock to sit and sew. The aim of my 2 day retreats is to make a quilt top in the 2 days. Most of the ladies that visit achieve this - here are a few of the quilts that were made last week. Did you miss me????

Hi, I am back. It has been a rough time here over the past few weeks, Sebastian has been in Hospital in Sydney so we have had a few trips up and down the highway. He is home again now, so hopefully if he continues to rest all will be well again. Thanks to those who have showed there concern.

Last week I felt awful having to leave a mid week group from Sydney - Sarah looked after them and by all accounts they had a great time without me. Denise and Sandy both picked the same quilt - which I had pre cut for them - do hope they liked my choice of colours and fabrics - both their quilts look great from the photos - well done to both of you, obviously you were both very busy to get them all pieced in the 2 days.

 

 

All the others in the class did well with their quilts as well.

On one of my trips to Sydney I came home with a big bag of Limes from my sisters garden,
 
 
Look what I made with them, Lime Chutney - wow this is so yum and so easy to make.

 

The next few weeks will be mad here with 4  - 2 day retreats in 2 weeks - but I love it

Glorious Autumn Morning

This was the scene yesterday morning that greeted me as I walked back up my road after my morning walk/jog. The Autumn leaves look glorious. This morning there is certainly a change in the air - there is a freezing cold front on its way - they are evening predicting snow maybe for up on the mountains. I think Winter is here.

Lots and lots of sewing

Last weekend saw a group of ladies from Sydney, along with a couple of ring in's -  join me for their annual retreat - they all did so well - here is what they got up to.

 Stephanie achieved heaps but has heaps more to do on this quilt - its looking good

 
Judith decided she would learn to quilt as you go - wow she did so well

 
Margaret made my "Flying South" quilt using a combination of all blues and creams - it looked great

This was only Dawns 2nd quilt - well done. How stunning does a border print make any simple quilt look!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beryl hid from the cmaera - but I will catch up with her one day.

A belated birthday gift

I made these 2 wool appliqued cushions for a dear friend for her birthday - better late then never
